We start by listening. You’ll meet with Dr. Shadi to go over what you’ve noticed—feeding struggles, speech delays, sleep issues—and we’ll do a thorough oral exam. If a tongue- or lip-tie is the cause, we’ll explain exactly what’s happening and how we can help.

Get relief the same day.

If treatment is needed, we use a precise laser to gently free the tongue or lip—the same day as your evaluation, if you'd like. The procedure is quick, with minimal discomfort, and babies can nurse right away with the help of our on-site lactation consultant. All families receive guidance on exercises to support healing and mobility.

For over 20 years, Dr. Shadi has cared for children and families as a pediatric dentist. She started this clinic after seeing exhausted parents desperate for answers—and realizing how often tongue-ties were overlooked. With advanced laser training and a heart for helping families, she provides gentle, effective releases so babies can eat comfortably, kids can speak clearly, and families can finally rest easy.

Heather and Sarah are our on-site certified lactation consultants, working closely with parents of infants before and after their baby’s procedure. Before treatment, they help assess feeding challenges and provide guidance on what to expect. After the release, they ensure baby is latching correctly and that parents feel confident in positioning and feeding techniques.

“How do I know it’s a tongue- or lip-tie?”

Let’s explore what mouth restrictions look like from infants to adults—and how a release can impact quality of life across the board.

Infants

Signs of a tongue- or lip-tie:

● Difficulty breastfeeding or taking a bottle
● Milk leaking while feeding
● Clicking or smacking noises while nursing
● Slow or poor weight gain
● Reflux, colic, or excessive gas
● Fussiness, especially around feeding times
● Inability to hold a pacifier

What to expect after release: Many babies show immediate improvement—latching deeper, transferring milk more efficiently, and feeding with less frustration. Our on-site lactation consultants will guide you through the first feeding after the procedure. Some babies need time to adjust, but parents almost always report easier feeds, better digestion, and more restful sleep.

Older Children

Signs of a tongue- or lip-tie:

● Speech difficulties (struggling with sounds like “T,” “D,” “Z,” “S,” “TH,” “L,” and “R”)
● Difficulty sticking out the tongue past the lower teeth
● Apparent heart-shaped or notched tongue when sticking it out
● Slow or picky eating, trouble chewing certain textures
● Gagging or choking on food and drinks
● Restless sleep, snoring, or mouth breathing

What to expect after release: Most children experience noticeable improvement in speech, eating, and sleep. Some see changes quickly, while others benefit from additional support like speech or myofunctional therapy.

Adolescents & Adults

Signs of a tongue- or lip-tie:

● Difficulty enunciating clearly or speaking for long periods
● Jaw tension, clenching, or TMJ discomfort
● Gum recession due to tongue restriction
● Sleep issues, mouth breathing, snoring, or restless sleep
● Strong gag reflex, choking on liquids or foods
● Challenges learning new languages or rolling “R” sounds

What to expect after release: Many adults and teens notice reduced jaw tension, improved speech clarity, and better breathing during sleep. If the tongue-tie has contributed to long-term habits, myofunctional therapy may be recommended to help retrain tongue posture and movement.
